ABOUT
Welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, struggling in your relationships, haunted by traumatic events, or simply seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, I’m here to offer a safe and supportive space where you can explore and heal.

My education and clinical experience spans many different countries, allowing me to work with a multicultural and diverse population. As a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), I uphold high standards of ethical practice and pursue ongoing professional development to serve my clients with integrity and skill.

My personal and professional experiences have shown me that the choices available to us lie buried under the chaos of unresolved trauma and limiting belief systems. My lived experience has strengthened my belief that we are all equally human - beyond race, gender, culture, religion, sexual preferance and identity. And I choose to dedicate myself to facilitating others in the discovery of their authentic selves, allowing them to lead their lives with meaning and value.

Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and I believe in meeting each client with openness, empathy, and respect.
My work is grounded in a Humanistic Integrative approach, which means I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapies while always placing the human relationship at the center of our work.
Humanistic therapy emphasizes your capacity for self-awareness, growth, and inner strength. It’s rooted in the belief that healing happens through authentic, empathetic connection and by supporting you to become more fully yourself—not by trying to "fix" you, but by helping you reconnect with your values, emotions, and sense of meaning.
At the same time, Integrative therapy allows me to tailor our work to your unique needs. Rather than following a single model rigidly, I integrate techniques from various approaches—such as:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for understanding thought patterns
- Emotion-Focused Therapy to process deep emotional wounds
- Mindfulness and somatic awareness to reconnect with the body
- Attachment theory to explore early relationships and their impact today
- Trauma-informed practices to ensure a safe, respectful space for those with difficult past experiences.
Together, the Humanistic Integrative style offers a flexible, compassionate, and holistic way to support your healing. It’s a process of discovering—not just what’s wrong—but what’s possible, and who you are beneath the layers of stress, pain or chronic self doubt.
Psychotherapy is an effective and evidence based method used for anxiety, depression, disordered aspects of personality, resolving trauma, personal growth, improved relationships with self and others, and living a more meaningful and value driven life. Everyone needs therapy!!!
I offer a free of charge consultation (over the phone) for us to get to know each other a little bit, and for you to ask any questions you might have regarding the process of therapy, sessions and billing, or me. Please feel free to set up a call at a time convenient for both of us, via email at therapyilahi@gmail.com or via text at 905-484-1388
No, you do not need a diagnosis or a referral from a doctor to begin psychotherapy. Many people choose to see a therapist simply because they want support, greater self-understanding, or help navigating life’s challenges. You’re welcome to reach out directly to book a session—whether or not you’ve seen a doctor or received a formal diagnosis. If you’re struggling, curious, or simply want someone to talk to, you’re in the right place.

However, if you plan to use extended health insurance, it’s a good idea to check your coverage details in advance. Some insurance providers may require a physician’s referral in order to reimburse psychotherapy services, even though one is not required for booking an appointment.
Yes, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spaces for clients who may be experiencing financial hardship. My goal is to make therapy as accessible as possible while maintaining a sustainable practice. If cost is a concern for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we can discuss your needs and determine whether a reduced fee spot is currently available.
